Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Q Hitch dual jaw fifth wheel trailer hitch. It has a 25,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this fifth wheel hitch is designed to mount into your truck bed so that you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. It is a very simple installation. It does require base rails and an installation kit to install this.
Those items we do sell separate on our website, and this is compatible with B&W, CURT, Demco, Draw-Tite Hidden Hitch, and even REESE above bed base rails. Now one note I do wanna mention, this fifth wheel hitch is not compatible with rotating pin boxes, such as the REESE Sidewinder, the Reese Revolution, or the 5th Airborne Sidewinder. Now this does use a two-jaw locking system, provides a nice 360-degree jaw to kingpin contact, which means less rattle and more security than your slide bar models. It also uses a unique spherical axial bearing, which will allow easy pivoting of your hitch head. It'll give you a nice, smooth 360-degree movement, not just front to back or side to side.
And it does give you built-in cushioning to absorb any road shock. Also, what's nice for easy maintenance, they give you three built-in grease Zerk fittings for easy lubrication of the jaws and of that axial bearing. There's a grease Zerk fitting right down there that you could hook a grease gun to, one on this side over here and then one over here. Now the handle, it's a nice sharp throw, single handle operation, so it allows you to open the dual jaws for connecting to the kingpin, and it does include this tethered pin and clip, which will keep the handle in the closed position. Now when you do remove this pin and clip, you can see it'll hang there so you don't lose it.
The hole right here is large enough. You can see there's a lever that drops down that you could actually run a padlock through there for added security if you want it. Now, the padlock's not included. You would have to supply that, but again, if you move the pin and clip, flip open that lever, that'll release the handle. And then all you have to do is just pull out, and you can see when you pull it out, the jaws pop open, and now you're ready to connect to your kingpin.
It will ensure a secure towing. It uses a three-point color coded lock indicator system, which you just look at the color indicator on either the handle or right under the hitch head here. You can see that from your cab of your V-Truck. And I wanted to pop up an insert just to show you, because we can't turn this hitch here, but that's what the back of it'll look like. So if you notice, it's gonna show, either it'll show green either in the handle or under the hitch head. If it's green, that means it's locked, it's closed, you're ready to tow. If it shows yellow, which it's doing now, it'll show yellow here on the handle, yellow down here. That means the jaws are open, you're ready to couple. If, by chance, it happens to show red in any place, that means it's locked open. You can pull away to uncouple, and as we mentioned, those lock indicators are visible from the cab of the truck. Now this does offer a four-inch hitch height adjustment anywhere from 13 inches to 17 inches, and that's measured from the truck bed to the top of the hitch head. It does give you, when you install your head into the legs, it'll give you three rows of holes to make that hitch height adjustment. Now it is constructed of a sturdy steel, has a nice durable carbide powder coat finish to it, and it will come with the included plastic lube plate. This lube plate will install onto your kingpin, and it'll allow that kingpin to guide smoothly into the hitch during hookup, and then prevent any messy grease buildup on your hitch head or on the pin box. Gross towing weight capacity on this again is 25,000 pounds. Now the capacity will be limited to the lowest rated towing component in your system. Vertical load limit on it is 6,250 pounds. And last thing I just wanna show you, if you notice the jaws we had opened earlier, they are open, ready for a kingpin just to show you how it operates. This is a replica of what a kingpin would look like. So basically when you're hooking up, this kingpin's gonna slide into the dual jaws, and when you get far enough, you notice that the two jaws come around, lock it into place, your handle comes back. And as we mentioned, the color code's showing green here and green underneath here. So just flip your lock open, take your pin, slide it through the hole to lock it in place, and now you're all ready to go. And then to unhook, just do everything in reverse, and you're all ready, but that's gonna do it for a look at this Q Hitch dual jaw fifth wheel trailer hitch with a 25,000 pound gross towing weight capacity.

The gear has been working out great. Everything is very nice and has been performing well over the past year.
Hitches very good. Wish for you to know the shipper was terrible. The boxes were just about totally gone but the hitch survived. Only issue I had was assembly. I wanted to take the top part of the hitch off. I didn't want to just pull hard after pulling upper pins called and no one really knew whether you could take it off or not. They gave me curt's number and I called them and they didn't seem to know either. I tipped the hitch upside down. Saw that there was nothing holding it.I lubed up the center post and it slid right out. It's the easiest way to access the bolts to tighten and torque, but I'm surprised no one knew this
Mounted this hitch on my flatbed 3500 Ram and the hitch works flawlessly. Pull 44' tri-axle weighing in at 23,000# with ease. Very easy to use and understand, very easy to maintain.
I think it’s awesome they check up on you a year later instyof right away ! The Q fifth wheel hitch is awesome still holding up never had any problems. Worth the price for peace of mind ! Couldn’t find a picture of the hitch but here’s a picture of my baby!
The Curt Q 25 is a great hitch. It came from etrailer within 2 days The reason I am not giving it a 5 star is that the packaging was open in one corner and I am missing a bolt. I never had a chance to inspect it since it was dropped off by the carrier without notice. (We we’re home)
This is the first 5th wheel hitch I have owned but have been using them for years. I loved the ease of the installation. 4 bolts & 4 cam locks and you are up and running. Love the Green, Yellow & Red indicators. With the Green dot showing, I know it's locked in. Thank you all for a great hitch.
I have ran a cheap competitor hitch for several years.
A manufacturing defect (welded pivot pin) caused the hitch to fail and resulted in 18000$ damage to my truck and trailer.
I chose the Curt 25000# hitch after much research and found it to be very well made and clearly shows when it is properly coupled. It is quiet and operates with minimal klunking and chunking going down the road.
Overall I am very pleased.
You second head that finally got here was opened up and hardware was missing so I had to go to local hardware store and get the replacement bolts
Received the product from UPS and the boxes were pretty well beaten up, but the product itself didn’t have any damage. I was sick right after I got it so I didn’t open everything immediately or look at the instructions or inventory anything but when I did finally look at the inventory I was missing some hardware parts. Amy J was helping me but I was in a rush because I have to pick up the new camper tomorrow so I had to run around town and find the parts. Took me four stores to finally get the ones needed. As a desk jockey it took me about 45 minutes to actually get it together and installed. Would have been sooner if I’d known upfront somewhere that the hitch separates from the top portion!!! Had a friend tell me that!!
I have to say shipping and delivering was extremely fast, I purchased my 5th wheel hitch on Friday and had it first thing Tuesday afternoon. Unfortunately, the boxes were pretty tore upon delivery when the UPS driver delivered them. The fifth wheel hitch which is a Curt Q25 fifth wheel hitch was pretty simple to put together in 30 minutes once I reviewed a YouTube video on installation for mine 2022 Ram 3500.
I was immediately unhappy with observing how my hitch arrived. The hitch was in cheap cardboard boxes, 1 torn to shreds, im still trying to verify i have all components. This type of product should be shipped freight and either on a pallet or encased in solid foam inside a bound box.
IT WAS A SUPER EASY INSTALL AND WORKED GREAT WITH OUR FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER
Product seems to be pretty high quality but the box that the hitch is shipped in seems to flimsy for the weight of the hitch. The hitch box looked like it had been tore apart and taped back together. I'm pretty sure UPS done it but seems a more heavy duty box needs to be used. The pictures in your ad shows a lube plate. I didn't receive that. If it was in the hitch box it probably fell out.
Great price for 25k hitch, but it did not fit into my puck system. I had to loosen some bolts to have it fot. Then tighten them again.
Delivery was fast. But shipping g box was I'm terrible condition.
Hitch is great, UPS destroyed the shipping box so parts were missing. etrailer jumped on it to make it right. Switching to FedEx would serve them well.
Easy install, videos on etrailer help. First trip is good so far. Feels solid and hooking in was a breeze.
The hitch itself exactly what I was looking for and fits my OEM puck system perfectly, thus the five star rating; but, etrailer may want to consider double boxing heavier items as the hitch head assembly box arrived as if it had fallen off the delivery truck more than once. Fortunately only cosmetic damage that doesn't concern me.
Decal on crooked. The main part just barely made it in the box. Wood and Styrofoam over everything.
Paint is excellent, metal workmanship is excellent.
I will purchase this again.

First time fifth wheel owner so I really didn’t know what to expect. The Curt Q 25 takes the guest work out of it. It was easy to hitch up and had positive engagement on the first attempt. At 5‘10“ I did have some trouble reaching over the rear dual wheels of my RAM to grab the handle but I can overcome that. So far the hitch feels great after 900 miles.
